HUR5 Blog post

 In Hur 5 I did Maths and algebra with Mr Carter. In Algebra we were doing  maths with pictures For 5 weeks I liked the algebra  part because it teaches me stuff about algebra like numbers ,pictures and symbols. In Maths I calculated the distance and speed for a paper aeroplane I also liked the maths part because it teaches me the Maths part like numbers plus minus and times.

I loved Hur 5 because it taught me the ways of maths and algebra in One Hurumanu usually it would take me a couple of months to learn one part of Algebra.Mr Carter did an OK Job at teaching me and the class algebra and maths in a short amount of time.

DTE Intro

In this introduction in DTE We  are recapping what we done for the last 4 weeks. We done code.org created our sites so we can show what we have done in DTE and we have done an infographic 

In Code.org I made a Flappy bird game where you cannot die And each time you touch the ground you earn 1M points and every time you hit an obstacle you earn 1M points.I loved code.org it showed me how to make a game.

In the first time of DTE I made a site where I can show my work to the world for educational reasons I also made some memes for my wallpaper in my site. Im so excited to share some work with you readers I also liked creating my site it was fun making it so I can share with you.

In The seventh lesson I made a Infographic about how to sit in a chair properly so you don't get fatigue. I didn't like the Infographic because it was confusing

Lemon Power Experiment

Voltage: A
n electromotive force or potential difference expressed in volts.

Current: A flow of electricity which results from the ordered directional movement of electrically charged particles.

AIM: To create voltage out of a lemon

Method
Step 1: Roll the lemon out so the inside is liquidy.
Step 2: Stick a piece of zinc and copper into the lemon.
Step 3: connect the lemon up to a voltmeter.
Results: I wasn't there

hurumanu-Climate change documentary

we (SH, DS, TS, MT) watched 2040 documentary about Climate Change and It was very very very boring because it had no action and it was like sitting outside staring at my dog's face and that was very boring 

QUESTIONS
1: What surprised you
A: Nothing

2: What excited you?
A: Seeing what the future might look like

3: What worried you?
A: How much CO2 is in our atmosphere

4: What did I learn
A: that a village in Bangladesh has a lot of solar panels on their houses.
A: those younger children want to see in the future

5: what would I like to see in 2040?
A: I would like to see in 2040 is flying cars or 100% eco-friendly atmosphere

Hurumanu - Solar Energy


Aim: To find out which colour attracts the suns heat.

Hypothesis: I think the black cup will be the hottest because black is an absorbing colour. 

Materials:

  1.  cup
  2.  thermometer
  3.  Chromebook
  4.  timer
  5.  paper
  6. tinfoil

Steps

  1.   get someone in your group to get the ingredients.
  2.  get the experiment ready.
  3.  wait for the teacher to put in the water and give you the thermometer.
  4. put the light on 
  5. put the timer on
  6. when the timer goes off put your results in the finding's box below

Conclusion

hurumanu-greenhouse affect experiment

AIM: TO LOOK AT CLIMATE CHANGE AND THE GREENHOUSE EFFECT

THE GREENHOUSE GASES EXPLAINED.


The Greenhouse Effect experiment

Materials

  1. 1 plastic bottle
  2. 1 Teaspoon Baking Soda and Citric Acid
  3. BVV 1 heat lamp
  4. 1 Thermometer
  5. 100 ml of water
  6. 1 rubber bung

Procedure;
1 come and collect all the materials from Mr palmers.
2 Setting up the lights, bottles thermometers and bungs. 
3 Mr Palmer adds baking soda mix along with 100ml of water.
4 Wait minutes and start recording the temperature.

All water added to the bottles were from the classroom tap

Conclusion: the normal water bottle did no heat as much as the bottle with CO2.

C.I.P reaction to reply from all black

Today we just got a reply from Anton Lienert-Brown when we sent a video to the All Blacks to cheer them on, at the Rugby World Cup and I hope we get more videos from the All Blacks it really made me and the class and the teachers feel good were happy to get a reply from them. Great job to all of my fellow students for making a video to the team and I think that the All Blacks really loved most of our videos we made. Whenever I look at the video I feel happy, Pride and joy. Because we made the videos that made the All Blacks reply to our videos. Heres the reply from Anton.
